Making 2clickfundraising.com a Success

I have been running 2clickfundraising.com for over 5 years now, and each year I get a better and better handle on what it takes to be successful using this program. There’s no selling, which people like, but you can’t just sit back and wait for a check either. But, follow these simple steps, and I can’t imagine you not being very happy with your results.

1. Even BEFORE you sign up … ask people if they like shopping online, or have family and friends that do. It is really hard to change people’s shopping habits, if no one really likes online shopping, don’t waste your time. If you get some yeses, signing up is a no brainer. But, write down those names of people that said they shop online. A couple friendly follow ups, could be all you need to get the ball rolling. “Joan, just following up, it sounded like you shopped at Amazon, have you been using 2clickfundraising.com? Is it easy enough?”

2. Show a Youtube Video at a meeting. The last 2 videos, “6 People that would love to help you fundraise” and “2click Success stories – getting more bang for your Clicks” are definitely helping. They’re simple 6 minute videos that help show how successful this program can be, with a few smart phone calls to the right people. Any fundraiser needs help from people outside the main members (if not, just pass around a hat), but no one is going to call their 200 closest friends and tell them all about our great website. But, the videos will trigger a few people that everyone knows, that could make you hundreds of dollars a year.

3. Passing out 2click flyers. We make flyers and personalize them. And, the more you pass them out, the more it will be on their minds. Every time you send something out, email or snail mail, you should have a 2click flyer in there. Ask me to personalize one for you. Or, even make one specifically for you.

4. Put 2click in the minutes. If you need suggestions, email me. But, whether you’re sharing last months results, telling everyone about a purchase that someone made through 2click recently, or highlighting a current deal you saw on the site, the simple reminders are key. Around the holidays, strategize about how you can reach the most online shoppers possible.

5. Cross Promotion. If you are having a Car Wash, pass out 2click flyers. Big football game? Pass out flyers. Do you have a website? Get a link on there. Selling wrapping paper for the Holidays? Leave those supporters with a flyer when you drop off the wrapping paper. (they obviously support the group, they don’t want that wrapping paper!)

6. Use it! This is obvious, but using the site yourself will help a ton. There are tons of every day products you can buy on Amazon that will save you money and raise money for your group. When people hear how you are shopping through 2click and Amazon to buy batteries, coffee K Cups, razors, printer ink, and hundreds of other everyday products, they are sure to follow suit.

Finally, take advantage of my help. I can make flyers, do a video for you, if you’re near Chicago, I can come speak at a meeting, whatever I can help with, I’m right here … jeff@2clickfundraising.com.

Best of luck! Jeff.

3 steps to raising big money, like the 2click guy does.

My one man fundraising account does better than a lot of our groups. How do I do it? Do I spend that much money online? Do I work that hard at it?

No, I don't work THAT hard, and I, myself, don't spend very much at all. And, here's how I do it. 3 steps ...

1. Listen to your friends and family.
2. Take 5 minutes on Amazon.com
3. Share your findings and Ask for 2 clicks.

Listen to your friends and family. When they're talking, listen intently for purchases they make. Here's an example ... my brother-in-law, Tim, is a big believer in Fish Oil pills. It's believed to be good for your heart, skin, joints, brain, and more. He tells me he has three pills a day. Sounds like a Recurring Purchase to me! Those are the best.

Take 5 minutes on Amazon.com. I asked Tim where he buys the Fish Oil pills. He told me the site, and that they had great prices. So, I spent 5 minutes comparing the prices on that site, with the prices on Amazon. No surprise to me, Amazon was cheaper. After shipping and handling, his site was $45.52, and Amazon was $40.32. Neither site charged Tax. No more than 5 minutes.

Share your findings with your friend. I emailed him, told him Amazon was $5 cheaper, and if he goes through 2click, about $2 of that order will go to help Fisher House. Next time Fish Oil pills come up with him, I'll ask if he's remembering 2click.

Fundraising doesn't have to be selling stuff. Just follow these 3 steps, and save some money, for yourself, AND your friends. Oh, and raise a lot of money for your cause!

How Can We Help You Promote your Organization?

As we clean up the site a bit and focus our efforts on social media for 2ClickFundraising, we're trying to make things a bit easier on our organizations to help them raise more funds. We currently have a section on the site dedicated to promotional tools, but we want to find out from you, our users, what we can add and change to make this simple and easy for you to use.

What can we do to help you? We want to make it as easy as possible for you to get the word out about how your supporters can raise money for you simply by shopping. Is there anything that you think is confusing and you'd like switched around a bit? Please, just let us know what we can do to help you.

We'll keep you posted as we update our promotional tools, and we hope that as we make all of these changes that they ultimately end up in more money being raised for your organization.

Diapers.com makes good cents!

I have the three cutest little kids in the world. I know, I know, everyone says that. But, with my kids it's actually true. Everyone says it, my wife, my mom ... everyone.

Anyways, before 2clickfundraising.com, we bought our diapers at Target. It's the cheapest place around.

Enter Diapers.com. It's great, you think about needing diapers at 3 am, and walk downstairs to the computer to shop (clicking through 2click first, of course!!). A couple days later, the box is waiting for you at your front door. No lugging huge boxes of diapers, just drag it inside and open the box. But, that convenience (and the commission for the organization of your choice) isn't worth too much money. It was time for a price comparison. My youngest son is 18 months and in size 5s, so we'll start there (quick side story: My wife wrote a note for my Mom when she was taking care of the kids, saying "Put him in 5 diapies", meaning size 5. So, my Mom being very confused, put him in 5 diapers!!! Too funny.)

Drum roll, please ... Diapers.com wins! And, similar to Amazon, the No Tax and No Shipping is the key (they always have no shipping over $50). After breaking it down to the "per Diaper" price, and taking into account tax and shipping (but not gas money to Target), the Target price is .25 cents per diaper, and the Diapers.com price is .23 cents per. Doesn't seem like a lot, but when you go through as many diapers as this little poop machines go through ... it adds up.

Also, for first timers ... $10 off your first order of Diapers with code AFF10! ($49 minimum total order.)

Your purchase also makes a commission for your organziation of choice. Starting to look like a no-brainer, right?

If you know someone with Diaper-Age kids, share this with them.
If you know a good 2click success story, share it with me! (Jeff@2clickfundraising.com)

Smart saving and happy clicking,
Jeff.

Need Electronics. Think Amazon.com!

Last month, the TV in my bedroom finally died. It lived a long, good life. The armoir could fit a 32 inch TV, so that's what I was looking for.

I went to Best Buy, and wrote down the prices for three or four brands, with various bells and whistles. Then I logged on to 2clickfundraising.com and clicked on Fisher House (the cause I support on 2click). I decided to check out the prices on three different websites.

ABT Electronics and TigerDirect.com both had the TVs I had just priced out and 3 out of the 4 were the exact same price (the other was more expensive then Best Buy). ABT has 1,000s of products with Free Shipping and that was one and TigerDirect.com was running a special with $2.99 shipping on most items. So, that was close enough for a wash.

Then, I went to Amazon.com (clicking through 2click first, of course!) and typed in the same model numbers. Amazon had the exact same prices as Best Buy on all four models. The kicker is, I got NO SHIPPING and NO TAX! The tax alone saved me $60 (I live in Cook County, ouch).

On top of that, Amazon gives 6%. So, minus the 2click fee, Fisher House got 4.2% of my $600 purchase, or over $24. Just for making 2 extra clicks!!

The TV came to my front door, two days later and is now installed upstairs in the bedroom. Where I end my day watching Important Things with Demetri Martin (have you seen that? he's hysterical! It's on Comedy Central.).

If you know someone in the market for electronics, share this with them.
